A late strike spoiled a heroic March Town cup comeback at the weekend.
The Hares stormed back from two goals down to draw level with higher-level Peterborough Northern Star in the FA Vase on Saturday, but were left heartbroken thanks to a late winner at the GER.
The UCL Premier Division side looked to be cruising into the next round after going 2-0 to the good thanks to Zak Munton’s double, but Mel Mattless’ men halved the deficit when Michael Chow slotted home from the spot after PNS’ Christian Gordon was shown a red card.
March completed their comeback through substitute Dayne Moore’s strike, but Jack Flintoft found the net with minutes remaining to secure his side’s passage into the next round.
March are without a game this weekend; their next is a Thurlow Nunn Division One clash with AFC Sudbury Reserves at the GER on September 23 (3pm).
