FATHER and son duo Rod and Karl Harrison competed at the FIA European Drag Racing Championship Finals at Santa Pod, near Northampton, last weekend.
The pair, from Manea, had a good weekend with Rod finishing third among the top 35 cars in Europe and Karl getting through to the second round of eliminations.
Rod missed pole by 9,000th of a second in his “Stardust” Super Pro ET dragster but worked with his superb crew and bounced back to finish third after hitting 187mph in the semi-final.
His son, Karl, who competed in his car, “Blown Budget”, competed well in the same class considering it’s in its very early days of tuning.
Both competitors hope to race at the National Finals at Santa Pod on September 25 and 26.
