The Black Bull pub, in Whittlesey, took on a team from the White Lion pub, Sheffield, at Fields End Water on Saturday.

The match, fished on the Pool, was keenly contested but the Yorkshiremen eventually took the top positions.

Gary Kirby won with 54-12 ahead of White Lion team mate Dave Tomkinson with 36-00.

The third and fourth places were taken by Whittlesey anglers, John Moore weighing in at 25-05 and Paul Raynor with 23-08.

The Ace Angling Club were also visitors to the Pool on Sunday and it proved to be a real family affair.

Fourteen-year-old Danny Button won with 38-00, fishing on the pole with paste, and his granddad finished second with 32-10.

Third-placed Steven Shaw (28-14) just edged out his son (25-00) into fourth spot.
