YOUNG Parkfield archer Sally Watson was on target to win gold at the Southern Counties Archery Society Championships on Saturday.
Competitors from throughout the south of the country had to contend with difficult conditions at the championships held in Rayleigh, Essex.
Ken Watson, from Parkfield Archers, found the windy conditions tough going as he finished down the recurve rankings but longbow archer, Sally, not only won her age group by no fewer than 200 points but also picked up the Silver Arrow award for the highest longbow score of the day.
Parkfield Archers will be hosting the Cambridgeshire County shoot on October 8.
