Host club March AC celebrated success in the popular Hereward Relay last Sunday.

The event attracted entries from 111 teams each made up of four runners to tackle the 39-mile route from Peterborough to Ely.

Eight of those squads were provided by March AC and their quartet of Debra Wait, Toni Alcaraz, Emma Tuck and Geraldine Larham captured the ladies’ prize.

Alcaraz was also the quickest female to complete the second stage – 10.3-mile stretch from Whittlesey to March.

Billy Bremner was another individual performer of note for March AC when finishing fourth on the final 10.9-mile stage from Welney to Ely.

Overall team success, in an event sponsored by MKM King’s Lynn, went to Bottisham Village College Staff Joggers/Cambs Tri Club. Peterborough Athletic Club Vets were second and Ryston Runners Men’s 1sts took third.
