Our regions running clubs roundup - here is how Fenland's running teams got on during a string of successful runs

Our Fen running clubs have had a string of successful runs and competitions - here's a roundup of how they got on.
At the Three Counties Running Club:
Sunday saw members racking up the miles in four different counties and another country.
Nine runners took on the 10k race at Thorney where it was nearly a ‘personal best (PB) clean sweep’.
Lee Johnson was first home with a fantastic time and PB of 42:35.
Next home was first TCRC female Claire Apted in 46:21PB, Sarah Clark 50:09PB, Mark Mattless 50:23, Sarah Johnson 55:30PB, Tony Lamb 56:42PB, Louise Drew 57:52PB, Jemma Redhead 1:02:28PB and Sarah Lamb 1:03:34PB.
A lovely calm fresh morning saw a five female team tackle the rather hilly but very scenic 20mile Wymondham Spring Race ready for up and coming marathons, with all runners getting a PB.
Elisabeth Sennitt-Clough was the first club member home and also 5th female in her age category finishing in a cracking PB time of 2:38:38.
Teresa Rodrigues was next home with a great time of 3:14:34PB.
Adele O Conner, Vicki Drake and Sarah-Jane Macdonald all crossed the line together in 3:39:50 all getting PB’s.
It was the first London landmarks half marathon this year and 2 Club Members participated. Chris garner was the first club member home in 2:06:27.
Steve Clarke ran his first ever half marathon and had been putting on charity events to run this race to support ‘Tommy’s Children’s charity.
Steve finished in a cracking time of 2:30:52PB.
Barry Clark not only ran Saturday at Wakefield Thornes Parkrun in a time of 33:41 but stayed in Wakefield to run Sunday in the Wakefield hospice 10k and completed the race in a great time of 58:44.
Arthur Sargeant travelled to Poland to take part in the Zagan ,Stalag Luft lll, great escape Memorial 10k Race finishing in a great time of 57:04.
Only the Brave, 6 mile obstacle course at Thetford saw husband and wife team Phil and Vicki Newton take part and the mud didn’t disappoint.

Three Counties next event is the Easter Bunny run on Good Friday.
At the Fenland Running Club:
On a wonderfully warm and sunny morning, 19 Fenland Runners were in Coniston to run in the annual 14 mile race.
Steve Bennington, Melanie and Andy Wicklen, Jac Richards, Hannah Ryan, Carly Read and Judy Searle were all delighted to conquer the hilly course for first time.
Stuart Follen was 1st male home by smashing his PB by 3mins 26secs in a time of 1:36:05.
Other PBs included Carol Bowett with a six min PB in a time of 1:57:52 and Nigel Searle with an amazing 22min 30sec PB in a time of 1:42:09. Nicky Jennings was 1st female home in a time of 1:49:04 and perfectly on track for a brilliant London Marathon.
Greg Tagney and Ian Milburn’s teamwork paid off with both winning 3rd Vet in their separate categories.

At the Thorney Running Club:
The Thorney Running Club held there annual 10k race.
The club fielded seven runners for the event with Rod Sinnott coming in first for the club finishing in 25th place and first in his age category with a time of 40:19.
There was a PB for Sarah Rippon who broke the hour barrier with a time of 59:57 finishing 228th.
Other times; Bob Hicks 140th 51:48, Stacie Youngs 161st 54:02, Julie Garner 201st 57:48, Melissa Millward 205th 58:06 (PB) and Tracy Veenendaal 247th 01:02:11.
As Thorney came to a close Fenland still had two runners battle it out at the Wymondham 20 miler.
Ryan Jones and Sean Connolly secured 12th and 19th positions out of 361 finishers.
Ryan finished in 2:11:00 and Sean Connolly finished 2:14:00 and secured 3rd in his age Cat.
Finally, over at the March Athletics Club:
Billy Bremner stormed home in the Thorney 10k race on Sunday and secured 6th place overall and winning 1st vet45 prize.
Toni Alcaraz was the first lady home for the club with an excellent time of 39 minutes 47 seconds.
Personal best times were had by Christian Ford and Graeme Dedman.

The club also had runners racing the London Half Marathon.
Andrew Wool crossed the line in 2.21.21 followed by Emma Chapman Cole 2:34:35pb, and Phil Cole 2:34:36.
The oundle 20 mile race saw Teilo Pearce achieve a personal best of 3:00:09pb followed by Gaelle Bryant 3:14:18.
And finally the Bedford 20 mile race had Tina Lambert leading the club in a finish time of 3:05:11, followed by Tom Orr 3:06:56, Laura Webb 3:11:49, Nina Markillie 3:41:04, Sarah Lemmon 3:43:29, Suzanne Orr 4:19:38
