Steve leads them in on home run

FOUR hundred people entered Fenland Running Club s largest ever event. Runners competed over 10 miles and the home club s first finisher was Steve Cockrell, with 58 minutes 59 seconds. He finished seventh overall. Nicole Coughlin was Fenland Running Club
FOUR hundred people entered Fenland Running Club's largest ever event.
Runners competed over 10 miles and the home club's first finisher was Steve Cockrell, with 58 minutes 59 seconds. He finished seventh overall.
Nicole Coughlin was Fenland Running Club's first female finisher with, 1:14-34, and she finished 114th overall.
The pair received a bronze trophy as a memento.
The race was run over wet and windy conditions but several other Fenland Running Club members put in top performances.
Ady Martin, recorded 1:04-55, to finish 40th, Colin Ferguson, came 96th with 1:10-46, and Richard Dix, finished on 1:12-30, to come 118th.
Keith White, who recently completed the Berlin Marathon, recorded 1:15-42, to finish 154th, not far behind Dave Hood (1:14-59, 147th), Waldi Karwasiecki (1:15-20, 150th) and Fenland's second lady Laura Clark (1:15-31, 153rd).
Paskey Ruggiero led the other Fenland runners home with a commendable 1:16.15 (159th). He was closely followed by Dean Racey, Neil Wesley, Pauline Zub, Maire Irlam and Gill Holmes.

March Athletic Club had 16 members in the Fenland race and Paul Hensby knocked over two minutes off his personal best to finish the
club's first runner home in 1.01.52. First female home for the club was Sue Irving, with 1.11.14.

March athlete Melissa Nea competed in the Bupa Great South run on Sunday in Portsmouth and ran a time of 62mins 21secs for the 10-mile race despite wet and windy conditions.
She had to cover the last mile and half into the strongest winds back along the seafront. She was the 25th lady to finish in a high quality race.
