MARCH Bears put in a brave performance against Newmarket on Saturday, eventually losing the game 35-13.
The Bears had taken an early lead through a Matty Day penalty, but were then subjected to constant pressure from the opposition.
Newmarket were able to establish a commanding lead, before March scored the try of the game, when James Beresford collected a James Hilliard cross-field kick.
Matty Day was awarded man of the match for his 100% kicking record and some ruthless tackling.
Captain Aaron Boxall praised his team’s solid performance, after they had been a man down for the whole game.
