IT IS only a matter of time before March stock car racer Becky Cowles wins her first race, judging by her performance at the weekend.
In the meeting at Skegness, Becky, 14, coped with the difficult conditions to claim a second place finish and two third places.
Becky, daughter of 1300 stock car racer Robin, only started racing in August, when she took to the track at Skegness and competed under her father's race number, 704.
Becky, who studies at Neale-Wade Community College, said: "The weather was terrible and after a thunderstorm, the track had pretty much flooded. I got absolutely soaked but I really enjoyed it."
She may have started from the back of the grid for her debut races but Becky's growing confidence have resulted in higher starting positions and improved results.
And it proved to be a good weekend for the Cowles family all round, when Robin clinched second and third place finishes in his 1300 races.
