March Town Ladies ended their S-Tech North League campaign on the losing side of a 13-goal thriller last Saturday.
The Hares travelled to face champions elect Bourne Ladies, who had only lost one league game all season, and the hosts’ title-winning quality showed as they overpowered March and secured the title with an 8-5 triumph.
March had threatened to spoil Bourne’s title-winning party after Adele Munday’s long range shot found the net, but the hosts soon replied to take a 3-1 lead.
Shannon Kelly struck a hat-trick and Munday scored again, but the Hares were powerless to halt Bourne’s free-flowing attacking football and ended a successful season in defeat.
Anna Hatcher was named player of the match for March for another strong performance, and the Hares, who finished behind Bourne as runners-up, will now regroup ahead of the new season in August.
