March Amateur Boxing Club's up-and-coming fighters stepped into the ring and produced knockout skill and technique in their home show.

Boxing prodigies from around the country travelled to the show, held at the Braza Club in March, and a full house – including boxing legend Dave ‘Boy’ Green - was treated to an enthralling night of amateur boxing.

First into the ring for March was Mark Smith, who took part in a skills bout with Jimmy Malloney, with both fighters showing great skill and technical ability.

A second skills bout between March’s Tarley Smith and Harry Britton was next up, and both Smith and Britton boxed well in an entertaining match-up.

The next pair of boxers to step through the ropes was Robert Tanner and Coby Brown, with March boxer Tanner taking the fight on a unanimous decision after showing excellent technique to out-point his opponent.

Acer Smith took on Lewis Bolinbrooke of Attleborough in the next three-rounder, with Smith proving to be too strong for Bolinbrooke, landing accurate, clean shots and taking the fight on a unanimous decision.

Arguably the fight of the night was between Sam Hill of March and David Joy of Aylesbury.

Hill was taking part in his first ever fight, but looked like a seasoned professional as his entertaining style brought the crowd to their feet.

Hill won the fight on a split decision after dishing out two standing eight counts to his opponent.

The final March boxer to showcase his skills was Charlie Stevens, who came up against Sam Malone of Holland Park in Essex.

Stevens was in fine form, handing out a flurry of body shots to his opponent. Malone worked him hard, but Stevens was too technical and was given the win on a unanimous decision.

March ABC coach David Cole was thrilled with the night’s boxing. He said: “It was a good show and a really good night. Thank you to everyone who came and to all the sponsors.”

After the success of this year’s show, March’s next show will take place on Friday April 15 2016.
