Sparta Amateur Boxing Club star Eryk Ciureja silenced the crowd in Sheffield by easing to victory over the city’s home fighter at a show last weekend.
The 15-year-old Fenland fighter recorded the 25th win of his blossoming career by dominating all three rounds of a bout which saw him take on a home fighter who had only been defeated three times in 30 fights.
Ciureja, who won the National Amateur Boxing Championships crown in December, was too strong throughout the encounter, putting his opponent on the back foot with his superior counter-punching and movement.
Ciureja’s opponent didn’t have any answer to his superb work-rate and accuracy and the local fighter marched to a unanimous decision victory.
His coach, Matt Lenton, said: “After travelling for three hours, Eryk showed no signs of fatigue and turned in an excellent performance in what was a hostile environment.”
