AN INSPIRED Richard Calaunan won every round of his fight as Chatteris Amateur Boxing Club enjoyed a successful trip to Ipswich.
Calaunan cruised to victory against Luke Stanley from Dale Youth after putting on an exhibition of switch hitting and body punching.
Paul Gill, his trainer, said: “I am really pleased for Richard, we saw the skill we see weekly in the gym, transferred to the ring. It was great to watch.”
Fellow Chatteris fighter Jordan Tilsley was unlucky to lose by split decision to Ollie Patterson of Finchley ABC, in what was only his second fight in the last year.
Gill said: “Jordan stayed in the centre of the ring as instructed, his defence and jab were good and he was unlucky not to get the decision.”
