Captain Alan Burton says Wisbech Town must beat March Town on Saturday to keep their title hopes alive.
Their quest to retain their Tucker Gardener League crown has been dealt a severe blow with consecutive defeats against Waresley and, on Saturday, Foxton/Babraham.
Wisbech batted first and found themselves languishing on 76-7 before Matt Esser’s unbeaten 43 got them up to 147 all out.
But it was always likely to prove too small a total to defend and Foxton/Babraham cruised home with eight wickets in hand.
With just three games remaining, Wisbech have been leapfrogged by Sawston and are 29 points behind leaders Ramsey.

Burton said: “It’s put us a long way behind the eight ball but we are not 100 per cent out of it. Cricket is a funny game. In the past couple of weeks we’ve not quite come good. Hopefully that will happen to Ramsey and they will drop points.
“No matter where you are in the league, a derby with March is a game you want to win and they will feel the same.
