AN all-age charity run at Wisbech Grammar School has netted more than £1300 for Cancer Research UK.

A field of 135 runners, including pupils, parents, teachers and friends, completed the five-kilometre Race at your Place event at the school, with participants either running or walking – or in some cases doing both.

The winner was year nine pupil Mollie Allen, 14, who completed the course in 19 minutes 45 seconds.

Organizer Geoff Howes said: “The event was supported by the school’s steel band and the Friends of Wisbech Grammar School, who cooked a fantastic barbecue.

“It is hoped to turn this into an annual end-of-term occasion.
