Chatteris Tennis Club have served up back-to-back promotions in the Cambridgeshire Summer League.

The local club entered the men’s doubles competition for the first time in 2016 and promptly earned a rise in class from Division 10.

And they’ve followed up with another successful campaign to secure second spot in Division Nine to continue their rapid rise.

An influx of new members has given Chatteris a larger pool of players and 10 different men - Simon Grainger, Andrew Fox, Charlie Gienke, Lee Enstone, Tony Finch, Cameron Smart, John Freeman, Joel Grieco, Alan Patey and Dan Knighton – represented them during the course of the season.

Dave Wing, the club’s non-playing captain, said: “I’m really proud of what the guys have achieved and we’re all looking forward to the Hunts & Peterborough League summer season which starts in July, and in which we have two men’s teams participating.”
