KICKBOXING coach Andy Whitwell hailed his “magnificent seven” after Fenland fighters claimed more silverware at the British Championships.

Whittlesey’s Courtney Brown claimed his third British title of the month, in the 16-18-year-olds section at the World Kickboxing Council continuous event.

Wisbech’s Charlotte Cameron took silver while Freya Molloy won bronze despite competing against much heavier opponents.

Youngster Harry Nunn won bronze and Aaron Godden claimed silver in the veteran section.

Edward Paddock impressed by beating a more experienced opponent while Grant Brown was unlucky to return without silverware.

Some of the BCKA stars travel to Dublin on Friday to compete in the Irish Open, the largest martial arts tournament in Europe.

Whitwell said his kickboxing talents had also qualified for the World Championships, which will be held in Italy in October.

He said: “I jokingly called them it at first, but these fighters truly are the magnificent seven. I’m very proud of them all.”
