STEVE Seymour finished his holiday with more hat-trick heroics for March, Wisbech pipped Godmanchester in another thriller and Chatteris moved one step closer to promotion.

March Town Cricket Club

• STEVE Seymour’s second consecutive league hat-trick inspired March to their fifth straight Tucker Gardner Premier Division victory.

The Australian all-rounder has rejuvenated March during his four-week holiday to England - and he signed off with four wickets in four balls on Saturday.

Seymour, who took a hat-trick against St Ives the previous week, finished with figures of 5-29 in the 56-run win over Camden at The Avenue.

He had earlier hit 35 as March were dismissed for 187, with David Hodson (37) also in good touch. Seymour and Meyer (3-21) then helped shoot Camden out for 131.

• PROMOTION hopes are fading for March II after they fell to their third consecutive defeat in Cambs Senior Division One.

A depleted side had done well to dismiss Horseheath for 145, with Stu Mills taking a fantastic 6-35. But March, who have slipped to fifth in the league, folded for just 60 in reply.

• A CLASSY knock from Josh Watson (97 not out) helped March IV secure a thrilling tie with high-flying Bluntisham - as both sides finished on 212.

• ALL-ROUND heroics from Ryan Meyer helped March to victory over Stamford Town on Sunday.

Meyer (70) and Ben Pyle (61) produced solid knocks to help March post 192-5 in the Rutland Division One clash.

Stamford were dismissed for 173 in reply, with Meyer (3-32) and Josh Jackman (3-24) the chief destroyers.

• MARCH II were given a 10-wicket hammering by Godolphin on Sunday.

Knocks by skipper Stephen Wallis (26 not out), Jake Beart (16) and 13-year-old debutant Sam Clarke (13) were the only things to cheer about as March folded for just 88.

Wisbech Town Cricket Club

• WISBECH and Godmanchester served up their second thriller of the season - and once again it was James Williams’ side who triumphed.

Wisbech claimed victory on the last ball when the teams met earlier in the season and they won the second meeting by just one wicket on Saturday.

Gary Freear (5-21) helped to spin Godmanchester out for 170 - but Wisbech looked doomed at 87-6 in reply. However, cool knocks from Ben Allsop (43 not out) and Simon Freear (24) edged them to another exciting win.

• IMPRESSIVE knocks from Matt Esser (72 not out) and Dom Stannard (62) helped Wisbech II see off Balsham by 61 runs.

Wisbech racked up 238-4 before Ivan Burgess (3-28) helped restrict Balsham to 177-8.

• OPENER Adrian Clare hit 60 and Harry Johnson took incredible figures of 3-3 as Wisbech III thrashed Haddenham by 78 runs.

• WISBECH folded for just 92 as Oakham hammered them by 133 runs in Rutland Division Two on Sunday. Wisbech II also suffered a heavy Rutland defeat as they slipped to a seven-wicket loss against Newborough in Division Five.

Chatteris Town Cricket Club

• CHATTERIS are on the verge of back-to-back promotions after they cruised to a six-wicket victory over Yelling.

Ant Palmer’s side will go up from Cambs Senior Division Two as long as they secure at least 13 points from their final two games.

Palmer (3-30) and Pete Munns (2-32) helped restrict Yelling to 133-8 on Saturday, before openers Kurt Cunningham (48) and Dom Platt (25) set up a comfortable victory. Chatteris host Girton on Saturday.

• MARK Leach took three wickets and top-scored with 29, but he couldn’t prevent Chatteris II from a 116-run drubbing at the hands of neighbours Wimblington.
