March Town need just seven points from their two remaining matches to clinch promotion back to Tucker League Division One at the first attempt.
March were relegated from the league’s top division last season, but look set to bounce straight back after they cemented their second-place spot following a two-wicket success away to Cambridge Granta 2nds.
Captain Tyler Phillips led from the front; taking 3-21 as the home side were dismissed for just 155 at Clare College.
Sam Freedman also impressed with the ball, taking 2-27, as did youngster Sam Clark who helped himself to two wickets for 19 runs.
March looked to be struggling early on after losing two wickets for their opening 10 runs, but Brandon Phillips (54) and Ben Pyle put together a solid 68-run partnership before suffering a mini collapse.
