AUSTRALIAN Steve Seymour toasted his return to March with a century, while Wisbech and Chatteris first teams were also victorious.

• RETURNING Australian star Steve Seymour made an instant impact for March on Saturday as he smashed a century to inspire a vital win.

The all-rounder, who starred as the overseas player at The Avenue during the 2008/09 seasons, is back in England on holiday.

And his travels have come as a welcome break for March, whose batsmen have struggled to find form in the Tucker Gardner Premier League this season.

But batting woes seemed a distant memory on Saturday - as they amassed 239-9 against Saffron Walden II.

Seymour (101) and fellow Aussie import Ryan Meyer (52) provided the backbone of the innings, with good support from Matty Vail (17) and Ben Pyle (26).

Walden mustered 176 in reply, with Tyler Phillips (5-29), Callum Young (2-30), and Meyer (2-55) the chief destroyers.

Seymour even chipped in with a wicket to seal a memorable reunion with his old team-mates.

• WISBECH continued their pursuit of Tucker Gardner Premier League leaders Foxton with a 148-run drubbing of Castor & Ailsworth.

Gary Freear (67) and Danny Emmington (32) helped Wisbech post 196-6 but it was the bowlers who took the plaudits.

Seaming trio James Williams, Zak Brown and Jack Hastings took three wickets each as Castor folded for just 48.

Wisbech remain 20 points behind Foxton, with seven matches to play.

• OPENER Kurt Cunningham hit 87 as Chatteris continued their bid for promotion with another win in Cambs Senior Division Two.

Ant Palmer’s side thrashed Wilbrahams by 90 runs after posting 213-6 at Wenny Road. Palmer (3-17), Joe Menarry (3-23) and Dom Platt (3-40) helped dismiss the visitors for 123.

• HENRY Rosier hit a sparkling hundred to set up Wisbech II’s 36-run victory over City of Ely.

The opener smashed 111 not out as Wisbech posted 217-7. Ivan Burgess (4-46) was the pick of the bowlers as Ely reached 181-9 in reply.

• TABLE-TOPPING March II survived a batting collapse to claim a one-wicket, final over victory over Longstanton Grasshoppers.

Andy Wright (4-33), James Harradine (3-22) and Richard Green (2-50) helped restrict Longstanton to 159.

March looked set to cruise home as James Hilliard (26), Rob Moden (36) and the returning Andrew Mills (29) put them 100-2 off 23 overs.

But five wickets tumbled for just 22 runs, leaving Andy Wright (25 not out) to lead his team home in the last over.

• JACOB Gray took a hat-trick as March II cruised to a 113-run win over a Spalding development side on Sunday.

The left arm seamer claimed 4-12 to seal the victory after Daniel Woods (79) had helped March post 167-6.

• A HALF century from Anthony Henson helped fire March III to a vital four-wicket win over Pymoor.

• TEENAGER Cam Brown hit his first senior half century but Chatteris II fell to a five-wicket defeat against Sutton.

Brown (53) and Malc Perry (38) helped Chatteris post 152-9 but Sutton reached their target with four overs to spare.

• YOUNG batsman Ollie Fox smashed 105 to help Wimblington beat Wisbech III by 68 runs.

Charlie Golding took four wickets for Wisbech but Wimblington posted an impressive 226-7 off their 40 overs.

Adrian Clare (34) and James Sheppard (47 not out) failed to prevent defeat for Wisbech, who were dismissed for 158.

• HARECROFT Road was treated to a thriller on Sunday as the Julie Harnwell charity match was decided on the last ball.

Lyndon Waters (44 not out) secured a two-wicket win for the veteran CMB side by hitting two off the final delivery. Wisbech had earlier declared on 190-9.

Ryan, Harry, Jonny, Richard and Andy Harnwell all played in the fixture.
