TALENTED seamer Callum Young became the latest player to claim a hat-trick as March’s bowlers inspired them to another fine weekend.

Young joined Tommy Howgego and Toby Nulty to become the third senior player to take three wickets in three balls this season. His haul also came a month after junior star Josh Fox made national headlines by taking two hat-tricks in an innings.

Young finished with five wickets as Chatteris were bowled out for 96 at the Avenue on Sunday. Nathan Foad (34) and Jake Beart (42 not out) eased March to a nine-wicket win.

• STUART Mills was the new hero for the table-topping March first team, who beat Sawston by 28 runs in the Tucker Gardner Premier Division on Saturday.

Seamer Mills (5-29) produced his best performance of the season to skittle Sawston for 138. Earlier, March had posted 166 with Matt Wilcox (58), Tommy Howgego (34) and James Harradine (33 not out) the main contributors.

• STUART Arnold recorded amazing figures of five wickets for just one run as March II thrashed Horseheath.

Arnold braved a bad back to bowl seven maidens in a devastating spell, which helped skittle Horseheath for 47. Richard Green also took three wickets.

March lost three quick wickets in reply, but David Hodson (25 not out) stood firm to secure the five-wicket victory.

• LEVERINGTON heaped more misery on struggling March III as they took the bragging rights with an eight-wicket win.

Scott Welcher (17) top-scored as March crumbled for 55. Toby Nulty and Jacob Gray picked up the only Leverington wickets to fall.

• CHATTERIS crashed to their first loss since the opening weekend of the season with a six-wicket defeat to Madingley.

James Dawson (38) and Alex Platt (41) helped Chatteris post 173-9 from their 45 overs but Madingley cruised to their target - with five dropped catches costing the visitors dear.

• CHATTERIS II lost by 17 runs in a high-scoring battle with Needingworth.

Josh Grant took three wickets as Needingworth reached 259-5. Stuart Porter’s brutal knock of 101 almost powered Chatteris to a memorable win but the home side failed to hit the 29 runs they needed off the last two overs.

The second team had more success on Sunday - beating Bottisham and Lode by six wickets to reach the final of the CCA Cricket Stick Junior Cup.

Andy Wool (5-21) and Mark Leach (3-15) skittled the home side for 77 before Alex Platt (41 not out) eased Chatteris into the final, which will be played on August 21.
