MARCH Town United tasted cup success of their own last week after their second string annihilated Elsworth Sports 6-0.
The Hares’ reserves exploded into life after the break scoring six times to clinch their first Cambs Junior Challenge Cup title. Goal-scoring machine Lee White bagged four with a Sean White goal and an own goal completing the rout.
March chairman and reserve boss Phil White said: “We outplayed them and outclassed them. We played some brilliant football and Lee’s four goals were all fantastic.
“Given what’s happened to the club this year - with all of our injuries - we’ve done excellently as a first and reserve team. We’ve got great people at this club, great sponsors in Fenmarc and we’ll continue to move forward together.”
March end their Cambs BIS 1B league campaign at home to Bluntisham Rangers on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
