Joe Perry will not play in the German Masters after he surrendered a 3-0 lead to lose out to Jimmy White in the second qualifying round today (December 9).
The Chatteris potter looked set to record a routine victory after easing into a healthy lead, but the veteran White, known as ‘The Whirlwind’ fired back and won five straight frames to seal an unlikely victory in Barnsley.
Perry was seething with his performance after the match, and simply tweeted: “Embarrassing!”
He later posted: “The state of my current game is what I’m referring to, nothing else! Been very poor for a long time now.”
White will play either Matthew Stevens or Robin Hull in the main stages of the competition in Berlin next February.
