March is to play host to the first England darts youth grand prix finals.
The Cambridgeshire Darts Organisation hosts the key event at its home venue, the GER Sports Club in Robingoodfellows Lane, on Sunday October 21.
Peter Melton, chairman of the Cambridgeshire Darts Organisation, said: “We believe it will be a fantastic day of darts with the best of England’s youth showing that the future of darts is in good hands.
“The best bit for anyone wanting to come along is that it is free admission.”
The grand prix has been running across England for the past six months, with ranking points being awarded based on results.
The top eight girls and top sixteen boys have been invited to compete for the respective titles at the GER.
The games will start at noon with all the players competing in groups of four.
The top two in each group will play the last four of the girls and last eight of the boys on stage in a total of 10 matches.
The stage matches will be fronted by Richard Ashdown.
Known as Little Richard, he is the M.C for all England events and the front man at the BDO World Championships at Lakeside as seen on BBC.
Richard started his darting career in the Cambridgeshire youth team around twenty five years ago.
The players competing include Cambridgeshire player, Connor Arberry (Peterborough) who finished top of the boys points table and means Connor is seeded number one for the boys event.
The girls number one seed is Yorkshire’s Beau Greaves, who last weekend won the World masters girls title, for the second time.
She has also won the girls European Cup twice and is already ranked 31st in the senior ladies world rankings.
Youth dart players must be from the age of 13 andunder the age of 18 on the date of the finals.
March GER Sports Club is the home venue for both the senior and youth inter-county dart teams.
In addition to the county matches, the Cambridgeshire Open is also held in the GER. Also all the play off for the various Cambridgeshire play-offs are held here.
