CHATTERIS snooker star Joe Perry crashed out of the Australian Goldfields Open yesterday after a stunning comeback by world-number-three Mark Selby.
Perry looked to be cruising into the second round as he powered into a 3-0 lead. He also led 68-13 in the fourth frame but Selby fought back to steal the frame on the black.
And it was Selby who came out stronger after the interval, going on to take the next four frames on his way to a 5-3 victory at the Bendigo Stadium in Victoria.
Fen Potter Perry - who is currently ranked 25th in the world - has been in sparkling form so far this season, making it to the Players’ Tour Championship Final last month, where he was beaten by Ronnie O’Sullivan.
