THE Fenland Gun Club has raised more than 3,000 for cancer research at a clay target shooting event held in memory of the club president’s wife.

More than 150 people arrived to support The Carol Wright Memorial Clay Target Shoot at Washbrook Farm, Doddington. They raised a staggering 3,400 for Cancer Research UK, and 300 for a charity in Doddington.

The event, now in its second year, was started by club president Allan Wright, after his wife Carol died from cancer in October 2008.
