JAMIE Horne became the number one high jumper for his age group in England with victory at the Eastern Athletics League meeting in Peterborough.
Horne, 12, from Newton, a student at Wisbech Grammar School, cleared 1.50m to take victory at the event on June 13. The win took him to the summit for his age group in England and to number three in the combined UK youth rankings.
Horne - who is only 1.55m tall - regularly trains at home using high jump equipment in his garden.
