CHAMPION Karl Strange launches a kick at his opponent as stars from the British and Chinese Kickboxing Association impress at the Peterborough Series Open.
The BCKA, who train in Wisbech, March, Chatteris and Whittlesey, finished second at the event - missing out on the schools title by just 10 points.
The club collected a host of silverware with 12 champions, 13 second places and three third places. Six of their stars were also crowned as grand series champions.
Coach Andy Whitwell said: “I’m very pleased with all of our fighters’ performances and the parents and supporters who attended the events.
“We were more than 100 points behind going into the last event and we did really well to push it to the last couple of fights, but it wasn’t to be.”
Whitwell said champions Harry Nunn and Harley Hilliam had put in particularly eye-catching performances.
The BCKA host their invitational competition at Sir Harry Smith Academy, in Whittlesey, on Saturday.
