Fenland’s cricketing stars celebrate successful season with club awards
FENLAND’S cricketing stars sealed a successful season by picking up top awards from their clubs.
Australian star Matt Wilcox picked up March’s player of the year after he scored 892 runs and took 48 wickets in a memorable Tucker Premier Division campaign.
Club chairman Les Mills was named as club man of the year while his son Stuart Mills won the Sunday first XI player of the year.
Tyler Phillips was young player of the year while David Hodson took home the most improved player prize. Girls player of the year was Emma Alterton.
Meanwhile, Chatteris’ Kurt Cunningham celebrated his most successful season with the bat by taking home three awards.
The powerful opener won batsman of the year, performance of the year and a special engraved tankard for scoring more than 1,000 runs.
