Fenland’s sportsmen of the future learn the ropes at March Town Cricket Club’s annual Sports Festival

There was a festival feeling at March Town Cricket Club this week.

Hundreds of children from around Fenland flocked to the club for the 12th instalment of the clubs Sports Festival, which invites youngsters to learn and practise their sporting skills with the guidance of coaches.

Coaches from March Town CC, March Boxing Club, March Soccer School, March Athletics Club and Peterborough Hockey Club all shared their secrets with 110 budding sportsman, and March Town CC chairman Les Mills said the three-day festival was a great success.

“I would like to thank all the coaches, assistant coaches, catering staff and the numerous helpers and volunteers for their hard work, organisation skills and enthusiasm which ensured the festival was a success,” he said.

“Special thanks to our sponsors; the Big Lottery, Fenland Youth District Council, FDC Sports Development Officers and Fenmarc.”
