LAST season’s beaten finalists Wisbech Town will be hoping to go one step better in the Cambs Invitation Cup, as Fenland’s sides prepare for their first round clashes tonight.
The Fenmen were beaten 3-1 by Mildenhall Town in last season’s decider at Cambridge United’s Abbey Staium, which was their first cup final for nine years. They will start this season’s campaign by travelling to Milton Road to take on Cambridge City, who have won the cup 13 times and are currently top of the Zamaretto Premier Division.
March Town United are also away, taking on South Midlands Premier Division side Royston Town.
The Hares approach the tie full of confidence, having won all of their last four games. Royston enter the game looking to bounce back from their 3-2 defeat to Hanwell Town.
Both games kick off at 7:45pm.
