FENLAND’s young boxing stars continued to shine brightly during another successful weekend for the area’s fighters.

Chatteris Amateur Boxing Club’s Dean Baxter, 12, beat New Astley ABC’s Harry Fussey by a unanimous decision at Newmarket on Friday. March ABC’s Danny Hedges, 15, also tasted victory as he joined Charlie Stevens in making the Eastern Counties Finals by beating Norwich Lads Club’s Harry Gidney on points on Saturday.

Chatteris ABC coach Paul Gill said of Baxter: “It was the best Dean has boxed, his jab was excellent and so was his movement. I can’t wait to see him at the Chatteris show on May 28.”

Tickets are still available for Chatteris ABC’s - who are sponsored by www.globaltiles.uk.com - show. Contact Matty Payne on 01354 693630.
