Maurice Hayden made it a weekend to remember for Wisbech racing when he won the 750 Motor Club's Stock Hatch Class A championship in his Citroen Saxo.

Maurice, pictured on his way to the title, put in a qualifying time of 2:10.68 to secure fifth place on the grid for the final.

His nearest championship rival, Christopher Petto, kept up the pressure by qualifying second.

Petto quickly moved into the lead ahead of Alistair Vannier but Maurice gained places to finish third and secure the title.

With only the double-header remaining, at Snetterton, this weekend, Maurice is assured of winning the title by at least one point.

Other Wisbech drivers to finish the final race were Bob Foreman in 10th, Robbie Boon in 16th and Terry Roughton in 25th.
