Five young local referees have been praised for their work with nominations for the Peterborough & Fenland Select Group.
Only 12 referees have this season’s honour from four counties and Alex Redhead, Dulcie Asher, Ryan Neville and Luke Glover from March and George Owens from Whittlesey are among the list.
Scheme co-ordinator, Robert Windle, said: “I’m delighted for the group. Usually Cambridgeshire provides one or two at the most in a season but to have five shows the strength that this area has and exciting times are ahead.”
The group faced a series of interviews and presentations in order to scoop their nominations.
