CAPTAIN Luke Pepper and in-form striker Stu Anderson were again on the scoresheet as March Town United continued their impressive pre-season with a 4-2 win over Stilton United last night.

Pepper - who will continue playing while he waits for keyhole surgery on his knee - scored for the second successive game after his penalty earned the Hares a 1-1 draw with Huntingdon Town on Saturday.

Stu Anderson took his pre-season tally to four goals with a brace and an own goal completed the victory over Peterbough Division One side Stilton.

Manager Brett Whaley said: “It wasn’t as pleasing a performance but it was another workout. It gave us the chance to try a few different things, which didn’t really work. What the game did do is confirm the way we will play next season.”

Ash Brand, who has been suffering from a hernia, also came off the bench to make a return for the Hares.

Whaley said: “We’ve got a squad of about 18 players at the moment - and I’m very pleased with how that squad is looking.”

March continue their preparations for a new campaign in the Ridgeons First Division tomorrow night against Deeping Rangers (KO 7pm) before hosting Sleaford Town on Tuesday (KO 7.45pm) and Whittlesey United next Saturday (KO 3pm).
