FOOTBALL: March Town says three points is a must

March Town manager Mel Mattless believes three points from his side's visit to Wisbech St Mary tomorrow (kick off 3pm) is a must, after they were held by lowly Needham Market Reserves last Saturday.
The Hares were boosted by the return of Toby Allen for the fixture, who has rejoined March after a spell with King’s Lynn Town Reserves.
Jack Rawson scored March’s only goal of the game, which was cancelled out by William Wharton-Richardson’s effort as the sides played out a 1-1 draw to ensure the spoils were shared.
Last Saturday’s draw, at the GER Sports Ground, leaves March 17th in the standings ahead of their trip to 19th-placed Wisbech St Mary tomorrow; a game Mattless believes his side should be taking all three points from.
“Last Saturday was disappointing, I said before we needed to beat the sides around us and we couldn’t do that.
“We had chances but didn’t put them away, we need to step up for the Wisbech game, it is a must win for us.
“We beat Wisbech we give ourselves a nice gap between us and sides below us but if we lose we are starting to look over our shoulders and that shouldn’t be happening.”
Mattless reckons that being unable to consistency field the same side this term due to significant injury problems hasn’t helped the Hares struggle.
“I think there has probably only been one week where we have been able to name the same squad.
“Week after week, game after game, we seem to gain one but lost two or three.
“It makes it much more difficult when you can’t field the same side, you can’t really get a togetherness.
“I know everyone has their injury problems but we seem to have been hit worse than most.”
