March Town United manager Chris Bartlett hailed his side's "tremendous" defensive effort after they made it four wins in a row with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Great Yarmouth Town last night.
The Bloaters almost went ahead when Leighton Crux cracked a shot against the underside of the crossbar.
Four minutes before half time, against the run of play, March took the lead.
Liam Merryweather slid the ball through to Ondre Odain who cut in on his left foot and from the corner of the box drilled a low shot which squirmed under the keeper and into the net.
Two minutes into the second half, Odain turned provider as the Hares doubled their lead.
Odain broke the offside trap and sprinted down the right wing before producing a perfectly weighted ball across the area for Tom Flatters to tap home his first goal for the Hares.
Odain was denied his second by a good save from Taurean Molloy.
Great Yarmouth Town applied pressure late on but March’s back four of Jordan Fiddes, Max Mattless, Jordan Goult and Callum Young stood firm.
The one time a Bloaters player found space in the box, March keeper Dave Beeny produced an excellent reaction save.
On Saturday, Odain’s 82nd minute lob secured March a 1-0 win at Downham Town in a dour game.
March are sixth in the Thurlow Nunn First Division, level on points with Great Yarmouth Town and one point behind fourth place Haverhill Borough.
Bartlett said: “We showed tremendous workrate and started at a good tempo but we did not move the ball well enough, which gave ourselves more to do than needed.
“We scored at good times, just before and just after half time.
“Defensively we were outstanding. We put in so much hard work. I’m proud of the team - that’s four wins in a row and 10 in 12.”
Up next for March is a home game with Woodbridge Town, who they beat earlier this season, on Saturday.
Bartlett said: “We’ve got to make sure our attitude is the same and that we play at a fast tempo. If so, I’ll be confident.”
