Ridgeons First Division: Long Melford 2 March Town United 0

MARCH Town United slipped to sixth in the Ridgeons First Division after a 2-0 defeat away at Long Melford on Saturday.

The Hares, who started the day in fifth, were unable to follow up their convincing 2-0 win over Fakenham Town last weekend.

It was the first time March had conceded two goals in a league game since their opening day draw with Whitton United - and it saw them surrender their record as the best defence in the league to Cambridge University Press.

The Hares travel to Soham Town Rangers in the Preliminary Round of the Cambs Invitation Cup tomorrow night.
