Ashley Taylor may be stepping down as manager this weekend, but still believes the future at Chatteris Town is looking bright.

The Lilies secured fifth position in the Kershaw Premier Division last Saturday with an impressive 4-2 success over Fulbourn Institute, and Taylor says his players should be proud of their efforts this season.

“It was one of our best away performances of the season,” he said.

“We played some excellent attacking football and the lads have done the club proud this season.

“We’ve secured fifth in our first season back, with three important midfielders missing for half the season and around other clubs which are paying their players.

“The future is looking good for this football club and we’ll announce the new management set-up in just over a week.”

Chatteris bring the curtain down on their season on Saturday with a trip to West Wratting (3pm).
