MANCHESTER United Soccer School's coaching session at Wisbech St Mary Youth FC proved to be a massive success this week - and more than 50 Fenland youngsters took part.

The three-day event ran from Sunday to Tuesday and several coaches supervised training and matches designed to develop the skills of young players.

All those who attended received a goody bag but it proved to be a week to remember for one particular player.

Todd Cocksedge, 11, impressed the coaches so much that he has been invited to attend a special training session with United in Manchester next year.

Todd, from Southery, near Downham Market, played for Wisbech St Mary under-12 Yellows last season and won the Supporters' Player of the Year trophy.

He finished runner-up in the Players' and Manager's Player of the Year awards and his impressive goal-scoring record put him second in the team's top scorers list last season.

Wisbech St Mary Youth FC were chosen to be one of the few clubs in the country to host United's Soccer School, and it proved to be such a success that the Saints are already planning to host another school next year.

The club were also presented with one of Park Ji-Sung's shirts, which the Saints hope to raffle or offer as an auction item.
