March Town Cricket Club players and staff took to the pitch to remember a popular member of the club last week.
On Bank Holiday Monday, The Avenue played host to the Ian Bradshaw Memorial Match – a match organised in memory of the former club captain and chairman, who died earlier this year.
Organised by Ian’s son, Simon, two teams of 14, captained by Simon and former March captain Dave Kenning, players went head-to-head and raised over £1,300 for the Parkinson’s UK.
Simon’s side won the encounter with one over to spare, with current Bedfordshire opening batsman, Ben Howgego smacking the winning runs.
Johann Davey hit 73 and John Gilson fired 33 for Simon’s 14, while Jody Betts (47) and Matt Vail (49) starred for Dave Kenning’s side.
