March Town Cricket Club have appointed their new captain ... and it’s a familiar face.
Jody Betts returns for his second stint in charge. During his first stint, between 2003-5, he led the club to its first Cambs League title (2005).
Betts replaces club stalwart Chris Ringham, who led the side with distinction for nine seasons. Under his tenure, March once again clinched the Cambs League (2007).
Club secretary Stephen Wallis said: “Throughout his period of office Chris has led from the front with the calm assurance of a player who was in control.
“It is great to see someone of Jody’s experience taking back the reins.”
The club also bestowed Honorary Vice President status for Aussie Steve Seymour, who bid farewell to the club after seven seasons.
Seymour scored more than 4,000 runs and took more than 200 wickets during his time in the first team.
