One of the country’s finest referees paid a visit to youngsters in Whittlesey last week.
FIFA and Premier League official Craig Pawson stopped by in the Fenland town as part of the Peterborough Young Referee’s Day.
Pawson, who recently oversaw Greece’s World Cup qualifier with Belarus, watched over a mini-soccer festival between boys and girls sides from Alderman Jacobs, New Road, Park Lane and Coates schools.
Organiser, Robert Windle, said: “This was an accumulation of five weeks worth of work within the school and for Craig to support our day with the children.
“Every child also received a signed programme for their personal collection.”
