Frozen out: Football, hockey and rugby matches postponed as snow hits Fenland

SNOW decimated Fenland’s sporting fixture list at the weekend as a host of football, rugby and hockey matches were frozen out.

All of the football matches in the Ridgeons League were postponed, with Wisbech Town unable to take on Felixstowe & Walton United.

March Town United’s Ridgeons First Division Knockout Cup quarter-final clash with Thetford Town was also postponed. It will now be played on Tuesday February 14.

Several inches of snow across Fenland meant that the district’s hockey clubs were left frustrated, with no team managing to beat the conditions.

Wisbech Rugby Club were unable to make their trip to Harwich & Dovercourt for their Greene King Eastern Counties Division One clash.
