MARCH Town United are still rooted to the bottom of Ridgeons Division One following two defeats in three days.Saturday's 7-0 defeat at Fulbourn Institute was a hammer blow to the Hares' confidence and poor decisions were to cost March the points in Monday's 1-0 defeat at Long Melford. There was more bad news for March this week when leading goalscorer Ashley Brand signed for fellow Division One side, Ely City.Saturday's defeat was the Hares' heaviest of the season and despite starting the game well, March collapsed after conceding the first goal on 20 minutes.Within the next 20 minutes, the physically strong Fulbourn side scored another three to go 4-0 up at the break.Once again, March succumbed to an onslaught in the final 20 minutes of the second half. The performance against Long Melford on Monday evening was much better but another bright start from March went unrewarded as Ryan Francis, Jason Dean and Adam Collins all missed opportunities to score. The game turned on two key decisions. Jason Dean's goal was disallowed for offside and within minutes, the home side took the lead with a goal that was allowed to stand despite strong appeals for offside.March tried to get back in to the game but when Daniel Moyes missed a second half penalty, their best chance to pick up points had gone.March manager, Paul Swannell said: "We were poor on Saturday but to be fair, they were a good side. We were unable to cope with their physical strength in attack."He added: "It was a different story on Monday and I had to have strong words with the referee at half time. Both key decisions were clearly wrong but we just have to forget them and concentrate on picking up points."On the loss of Ashley Brand to Ely, Swannell said: "He received an offer that we couldn't compete with but I believe that we have the strength in depth to cover."March entertain Haverhill Rovers tomorrow (Saturday).Hares (v Fulbourn): Liversedge, Coulson, Welcher, Tumblety, Spendelow, Dean, Turner, Collins, Moyes, Francis, Wells.
