A LATE rally failed to prevent March Town United from crashing out of the FA Vase with a 2-1 defeat to Thrapston Town on Saturday.
The Hares were facing an uphill task after 52 minutes of the first qualifying round tie at the GER, as they conceded two sloppy goals.
But after boss Paul Crosbie made changes, introducing James McDonough, Scott Welcher and Danny Emmington, March began to put pressure on the visitors.
The Hares laid siege to the Thrapston goal and could have finished with more to show for their efforts than Robbie Masters’ late strike.
March, who sit ninth in the Thurlow Nunn First Division, travel to fifth-placed Braintree Town Reserves on Saturday.
