Wimblington swimming star Mollie Allen proved that she is one of the country’s finest young swimmers by sealing gold and bronze medals at the British Summer Championships.
The youngster, who goes to Wisbech Grammar School, qualified for the 100m backstroke final by shaving a massive 1.3 seconds from her previous personal best time, before swimming to the bronze medal in the final.
Mollie then bagged a place in the 50m backstroke final with a second-place qualifying finish, before sealing a superb gold medal with a personal best time of 29.08 seconds.
Her father, Paul, thanked Wisbech Grammar School for their support during her training. He said: “The school is so supportive of her swimming commitments and assist her in every way possible to enable her to succeed and make training and competition commitments.”
