FOLLOWING a long search for a bigger and better home, West Walton Community Gymnastics Club will be based at The Queen's School, Wisbech, from next month.

As reported in the Cambs Times and Wisbech Standard, the club has proved to be extremely popular and an over-subscription for classes at West Walton Primary School has led to the search for a larger premises.

The club's fully qualified coaches, Stewart and Kirstie Harrison have already attracted investment in the form of new equipment but the new premises has always been a priority.

To celebrate the move, the club will be hosting a fun taster session for anyone wishing to give gymnastics a go and watch the club's elite gymnasts practising their moves.

The session will be free and will run from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, August 19, at The Queen's School's sports hall.

The club will then begin training every Saturday from August 26 onwards and girls and boys of all abilities will be welcome to join in.

And there is more for the West Walton club to look forward to.

On Monday, some of the top girls and boys will be visiting Loughborough University to take part in residential intensive training at one of the country's finest gymnastics facilities.

As well as taking part in the coaching sessions, the gymnasts will also get the chance to sample university life and the experience of staying in halls of residence.
