Ridgeons First Division: March Town United 1 Long Melford 2
MARCH Town United’s unbeaten run came crashing to an end as they slumped to a miserable home defeat against struggling Long Melford.
The in-form Hares, who were unbeaten in four games ahead of today’s game, failed to continue their fine form which saw them shock Suffolk Senior Cup winners Whitton United last week.
Jamie Weston’s side went in 0-0 at the break but soon found themselves 2-0 down against relegation-threatened Melford.
Adam Cornell’s late goal gave March a glimmer of hope but the fourth-from-bottom visitors managed to hang on to clinch a vital victory in their battle to avoid the drop.
