A CHATTERIS triathlete proved that he was up for the challenge when he competed in the gruelling Ironman 70.3 event.
Brad White, 23, has only been training for 10 months and has previously completed two triathlons, in which he has finished second and in the top 10.
But last week's Ironman 70.3 at Wimblehall Lake, Exmoor, was a different matter.
The event attracted more than 1,200 male and female entrants who aimed to complete a 1.2 mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run.
Despite facing the staggering challenge, White crossed the finish line in five hours, 59 minutes and 55 seconds - a time good enough to place him 232nd and 19th in his age group.
Sponsorship from DJ's Garden Centre, Chatteris, covered White's entry fee for Ironman 70.3 and he is now seeking further sponsorship.
